REPERtoire

We will work on and perform selections below for our performances this year. Not included in these videos is the SOPAC Premiere by Kenley Kristofferson. You will not find a recording of it because no one has ever performed it before! 


Sectionals

Sectionals will be approximately 2 - 3 times per month, at lunch time.  A schedule will be made available and posted here on the website ASAP.  Section Leaders will be in charge of running the sectionals and reporting back to Plam.

EXAM INFORMATION

___________________________________________________________________________________

  • Create groups of 5 - 8 students. There must be a MINIMUM of 3 different parts represented in your group.

  • Practice together a minimum of 3 - 4 times before your exam time. You will be graded on your preparedness as a group.

  • Sign up for a 15 minute slot with Ms. Plamondon during exam week. A sign up sheet will be posted as soon as the exam schedule is announced.

  • Groups will play from Measures 149 - end.

    GRADING RUBRIC:

    • Preparedness (leadership, counting rests, knowing when to come in, etc…)

    • Musical Excellence (Can everyone play their part?)

    • Balance, Blend, Tuning

  • If you FAIL the exam during your first try, you will be asked to come back for a 1 hour rehearsal with Ms. Plamondon and the others who fail at the end of exam week.

 The First Wind Ensemble Maples has ever had!!! We performed One Thousand Cranes by Robert Sheldon and Second Suite in F by Holst. We received 3-5 star ratings and took home a trophy that night :)
